Ms Puddin’ Gets Racist

So I have to ask, since when did BP time (Black People Time) turn into two hours late? And if black people show up two hours late, does that mean Asians show up an hour early, while white people are right on time?

I’m not racist. Just throwing that out there.

As matter of fact, I do have a lot of black friends, one Asian friend and I know a bunch of white people. I don't even qualitfy to be racist, because I’m biracial. Me hating someone because of their ethnic description would be like committing suicide.

I’m just curious about this whole timing thing, because last night I tried to coordinate a get together with a bunch of my friends. Nothing over the top, just something chill and relaxed to kick off the weekend early. Never again will I play party planner. With the exception of people who told me they couldn’t make it, the people who did show up were two hours late! I told people 8pm and I figured they wouldn’t get there until 8:30pm or 9pm, but people didn’t show up until 11pm! Wtf.

One of my guy friends said, “I’m just in time for the after party!”

No. No, you’re not. There is no after party. This is the party, you’re late and it is almost over.

One of my other friends (yes I have more than one friend) said that I should have told people to be there at 4pm and then people would have been right on time. Forget that! I’m going to start hanging out with my one Asian friend. If we get to the party early, then we can get drunk before everyone gets there and we won't even notice how late they are...

Anyway, have a great weekend people! Unless I get abducted by my illegitimate child or some other creepy person I will be back on Monday with more Puddin’ recipes.

I'm always TOO early wherever I go. Guess I have a 'fear' of being late. You'd be pissed at me cause I'd be the one showing up at your place 30 minutes early when you're not even ready...

Black Tina was my roommate when I lived in Los Angeles and she ran on Black People Time. Yes baby, 2 hours later than everyone else for social things. She drove me crazy but she was worth the wait. Loved that bitch.

I didn't realize you were biracial.

I run on old people's time. I'll get to an event real early, leave real early, and be in bed by 7:00pm (after Jeopardy, of course).

Some day when I get a friend I might be able to answer this question. I did get a laugh out of the biracial/suicide link thing, though.

I actually had someone tell me he couldn't be racist because he was a jew (what a crock of shit, and he is quite racist, too, and just generally a retard), but in your I guess you really don't have much choice in the matter.

And bottle blonde - quit being agist. Us old people sometimes stay up past ten. Not often, but sometimes we do.

Mister Underhill, you old basta'd. You and your cane can never keep up with me and my walker (with tennis balls attached to the end of the legs for maximum speed)!

bella- no that’s perfect, you can help me set up…

kitty- lol Black Tina huh? Sounds like my friends…

don- Yeah, a better word for it would be confused. (checkout 101 things about MsP).

G- hell yeah! Ya know I couldn’t wait to bust ya’ll out!

diarrhea of the mouth- oh so you have parts that equal a whole. I’m ½ white ½ black. Race is such an interesting thing. I’m actually taking a class on it in school.

phishez_rule- fashionably late is a whole other story…

bottleblonde- hmmm, I should introduce you to my grandpa, he just got a hip replacement. You two would have fun together…

mister underhill- racism is definitely a mystery to me. I like to laugh at how people do things different and it is hard to do that on a blog, without offending people I’ve never met face to face…

mu & bb- why don’t you two take this outside!

I'm half asian/half white...

1. Always extremely early for interviews (probably too early)

2. Always late to parties (I hate when it's too awkward at the beginning)

3. Coin toss when it comes to dinner

... did that shed a light on anything or just make it more confusing?

I don't think it's strictly black phenomenon. You forgot to throw in Mexican time.

Got an invite from some co-workers to come over for a house warming party they were throwing. We were told it would start at 5. So we figured we'd be fashionably late.

Cut to us arriving at 5:45 and the host saying, and I quote, "What the hell are you guys doing here so early? Don't you know 5 means 7 or 7:30 in Mexican time?"

Segue to us sitting around twirling our fingers for the next two hours til other people showed. Why not just tell people what time you actually want them to show and then...I dunno, actually doing just that?

So@24- no that helped a little. I’m half n half too, so showing up late is my black side and then feeling guilty about it is my white side…

Onthevirg- LOL @ your story, yeah sorry to say but if you show up early to a Mexican or black party, you re just going to look stupid.
